Glossary: Welfare Checklist

The welfare checklist, set out in Section 1(3) of the Children Act 1989, contains the factors which the Court is required to consider when making a Section 8 Order which is opposed, a Special Guardianship Order, Care Order or Supervision Order.

The list is not intended to be comprehensive and is more of an aide-memoir to ensure that the basic elements of a child's welfare are considered.
