The NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) is a national charity focussed on child protection issues and the prevention of cruelty to children. It runs a 24 hour confidential Freephone helpline for anyone concerned about the welfare of a child or young person. It also runs Childline, a helpline for children and young people at risk. The NSPCC also provides treatment and therapeutic services, support and counselling services in schools, witness support schemes  for young people and projects working around domestic violence prevention issues.
